About this studio
Crossflow Recordings is a music production company and record label. We are utterly fascinated with every part of the process of music and sound, from that idea that pops into your head when you’re busy doing something else, to the final mix you crank up in the car on your way home from the studio. RECORDING Our studios are situated on Platt’s Eyott (pronounced Platt's '8', we sounded like donkeys for a long time until we researched that one..), an island on the Thames in Hampton, South West London. It’s a totally unique place to be, especially for a London studio. It’s a really inspiring place here on the river and with our 40SqM live room you will have plenty of space to create. The Bell down the road do a mean burger too. Our console is a Midas Venice and we use Logic Pro X. We monitor on Mackie HR8 24mkII’s. Lots of tasty outboard from Mindprint, Focusrite, TLA and Avalon at our disposal. Lovely mics, SE, Neumann, Rode, Shure and Sennheiser. Even some modified shotgun shells from 12 Guage Mics. They’re great. MIXING AND MASTERING Mixing is a combination of science and creativity and requires someone with technical skill, good gear, good ears and most importantly experience (I can’t find an experience torrent anywhere, don’t worry, we have it). Even if you mix yourself, sometimes you can be so passionate and close to your creation, you may lose perspective. After spending countless hours crafting your music, we understand how import it is to you, having Crossflow Recordings mix your music will be an extra pair or ears to provide that vital objective viewpoint. Mastering is the final process your music will go through and is as important as every other step. This is where you’re music will be enhanced to its maximum potential to sound amazing across all platforms. Every project we take on includes mastering. Please message us for hourly minimums and day rates prior to booking.
